Monday ~ Fun, Friends, Fiestas

Renee is having the 1st "Something Beautiful" link Party. Go by for a visit.

I also just met Frugality is Free. It is totally awesome!! There is a Monday bloghop: Follow Us Monday Morning. and tons of coupons. I'm so impressed with the Coupon Database. You have to see it for yourself.

One of my favorite things to do is capture the essence of Latin cuisine in my aprons. When I see gorgeous foods in radiant colors and I'm inspired to design. The Food Network has brought cooking to a level of artistic expression and celebrity status. It is now "chic" to be in the kitchen. I grew-up eating authentic Latin food made by my great-grandmother, my grandmother, and still made by my mother. Being for south Texas gave me the opportunity to experience a blend of cultures in foods we call "Tex-Mex". The Apron Senorita came from vibrant women who passed family recipes through the generations. I am passing those same cooking secrets to my daughter. God has been bringing people together through meals for a very long time. My hope for our generation is that we remember to share special moments with our family at the dinner table.

One of the many thing I love about Food Network is they celebrate so many different cultures and bring different dishes from all over the world. Ingrid Hoffman and Aaron Sanchez are a couple of my favorite Latin celebrity chefs. They always cook up a delicious feast and have such exciting fiestas!! Maybe some day Ingrid will wear one of my "Apron Senorita" aprons.

CHURROS

Ingredients
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 sheet defrosted puff pastry dough
Dulce de leche, for dipping
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside. Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on your work surface and place the puff pastry in an even, single layer on top. Brush the pastry lightly with water and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar. Flip the pastry over and repeat on the second side. Cut the pastry into 1/2 to 3/4-inch wide strips. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, twisting the ends of each strip so it looks like a corkscrew. Bake until they're puffed and golden brown, 20 minutes and set aside to cool completely. Serve with dulce de leche (caramel) dipping sauce.

  6. Thank you for visiting my blog on this Something Beautiful Monday.

Your apron is lovely. I am an apron lover. I just won a gorgeous shabby chic apron from a giveaway Shabby Cottage Shops was having. I don't think one can have too many aprons!!

Our family LOVES The Food Network. We've really been enjoying The Next Food Network Star...perhaps Herb will win and there will be one more chef with Latin leanings. (Of course, we like Aarti and Tom as well, so we're okay with whoever wins)

    Have a wonderful day,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)
