I am blessed to live in such a pretty part of Texas. It feels like small-town America where people know each other and are friendly. We are located between big cities. There are lakes, rivers, hill country, and beautiful Texas vineyards. I like the weekday quiet and the weekend visitors. On weekends the streets and rivers are filled with visitors. I love watching the long lines of Harley Davidson bikes on road and parked around store. The rivers are calm during the week but on weekends it comes alive with people on floating alone in tubes. Below are pictures of my home town, New Braunfels. Tx. Come on over!

Love your hometown! Our town (12km away) is so small in comparison. We live in a one-street village. Have a nice day! Was your town founded by germans? Braunfels and Gruene are german words:)
ReplyDeleteIts been forever but we lived in Conroe when we first got married. Visiting and following from Welcome Wednesday

Hi Yoli,
ReplyDeleteYou are sweet. Your hometown looks like one from the picture books, or an old movie. So charming. I would love to see it sometime! I don't know much about Texas, but I did celebrate my 8th b-day there, on our way thru as we headed to California from overseas! (the year of the fake barbie - another, sad story...)
Thanks for being such a loyal Wed. Gratitude participant and always having something lovely to share!
XO

Small town Americana. Gotta love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures...found you on on Welcome Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the old General Store with all the Harleys in front. I've heard of New Braunfels. I'm from a military family and when I was (read MUCH) younger, we lived in Killeen (Fort Hood) and Dallas. I don't think I've been back to the state of Texas since we left there to go overseas.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Thanks for sharing your home.

What a great place! It looks right out of a movie set!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog - and I love New Braunfels. One thing I adore about central TX is that you have small town after small town without that "deserted" feeling in between them. Fredericksburg is another of my faves.
ReplyDeleteBut you have great barbecue there too - nothin' like good Ol' Salt Lick.
I have never had the pleasure of visiting Texas, only a layover at an airport. You have made it sound like a wonderful place to visit, thanks so much for sharing your hometown.
