As my kids get ready to start school tomorrow, I send them off with blessings and prayers. I know that our Heavenly Father will guide them and protect them. Our beloved Jesus Christ will walk with them throughout the day and the Holy Spirit will fill their hearts with confidence. I pray to my blessed Mother Mary that she may interceded for them in all things that may be difficult. I pray for the my kids, all students, school administrators, and other parents.
St. Thomas Aquinas
Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom,
origin of all being, graciously let a ray of your light
penetrate the darkness of my understanding.
Take from me the double darkness in which I have been born,
Take from me the double darkness in which I have been born,
an obscurity of sin and ignorance.
Give me a keen understanding,a retentive memory,
Give me a keen understanding,a retentive memory,
and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally.
Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations
Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations
and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm.
Point out the beginning, direct the progress,
Point out the beginning, direct the progress,
and help in the completion.
I ask this through Christ our Lord.
I ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Hi Yoli, Hard to believe it is that time of year again. Actually, some students have all ready been in school for a week or more. That is a beautiful prayer you posted here, and nice photo of the "prayer at the pole." We have that event here, too. When I was teaching, I participated in that rally. Very special!
ReplyDeleteThere is also an organization your followers might be interested in called MOMS IN TOUCH. It is mothers who meet on a regular basis to pray for their children and the school system. A Goggle Search will lead to their website. Happy Spiritual Sunday!
Beautiful prayer...May He keep and guide our young people in the right direction.

beautiful prayer and you're such a good mom. ☺
ReplyDeleteIt is only in the fall that I miss being an art teacher, but I do try to pray for the kids and teachers as I pass the kids on the road as they wait for the school bus in the morning. Beautiful pictures too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful prayer, Yoli. Your children are in good hands.

Wonderful prayer! I'm praying for complete healing for your aunt. It's nice to meet another single mother!
ReplyDeleteTogether in Christ Jesus, we are one in him....
ReplyDeleteHis Word is truth.. I love the photo of the hands on God's Word..
I am always amazed that when Mary said "Yes" to the Angel Gabriel....her Word, "Yes". Transformed the Word into a living babe within her....... to become Jesus.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word, was God. Everything was created though Him and by Him.." God bless your day!! Hugs CML
May God bless and protect the children of our nation as they start another school year.

Beautiful, Yoli. You are a great mom to be exposing your children to the good things in life. (I still can't believe you have 2 teenage children!) There's so much dark and evil lurking out there. You have introduced the light and good. Great job.

Excellent points. Coating our children and grandchildren in prayer is definitely vital! When my kids were young their schools also did Meet at the Pole and Moms in Touch - both are awesome.
ReplyDeleteAs Jesus told us in John 14, "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments."
Awesome promises of God in the Bible. :)
Thanks for good encouragement and have a blessed week.
What a lovely prayer! Hope your sweet ones have a wonderful school year!
