Sweet Lemonade

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

I have been the little "home-maker" since when I was young girl back home.   I remember loving to cook, playing party host, and grabbing any piece of fabric I could find to practice sewing.  During the summer my father would make us work outside in the family's plant nursery business.  I hated it.  We lived in deep south Texas so the weather was miserable during the hot summer days.

My idea of summer fun was being inside, testing new recipes like triple-decker sandwiches and grilled bacon hamburgers.  When we had to work outside, I would find any reason to get out of the heat.  I was notorious for taking long breaks from work.  I would go inside the air-conditioned house to make lemonade for my sisters and brother.  It was my way of escaping the manual labor work.  Needless to say, my siblings weren't buying my cleverness; neither was my dad.  From a very young age I learned about making lemonade when life gives you lemons.

  2. Ha! Very good!

That does look so delicious. Son 1 made us all lemonade for New Year's Eve. I know it's not traditional for winter but we did enjoy it with the tacos he cooked us as his contribution to the meal!
