Monday Dreams of our Youth

Happy Columbus Day.  Today I want to encourage our youth to dream.  As parents it is out responsibility to instill in them a hope and vision for a better future.  My son is a senior in high school and getting ready for college.  Most of his time is spent applying for college and for scholarships.   He is an excellent student with dreams of making a positive contribution in this world.  All the great leaders and everyday heroes started with a forward step in faith, and they all had someone in their life to encourage them.

Lets teach our youth to learn about American government and world affairs.  Inspire them look at all sides of a issue and make informed choices.  Their involvement starts at the local level at their school student councils, through boy scouts, girl scouts, and by participating at their local church.  All of those activities teach process flows, collaboration, responsibility, independence, social skills, critical thinking, assessment and creativeness.

I have this DREAM BIG magnet posted in my office.  It reminds to dream like I did when I was kid and believe that they can come true.
