Saturday Night at the Quarry

.
I spent Saturday night at the Alamo Quarry Market in San Antonio, Tx. It is is such a gorgeous shopping area, with over 60 stores and fabulous places to eat. My kids and I drove there in the evening to meet my mother and aunt for dinner. After a delicious dinner at one of the restaurants, we walked around to several stores.

.
One of my favorite stores is Restoration Hardware. The store I was in is a Gallery Store where gorgeous selections of Vintage French furniture is displayed. I love the neutral English Arm sofas and chairs, decorated in subtle hues of burlap pillows. The store is inviting and inspiring. The best part is that many of the pieces are truly vintage, restored into beautiful weathered furniture. There are a lot of tables and sideboards that are built from unfinished pine, making an impressive statement of rustic beauty in unfinished wood. The artisan turn solid woods and industrial steel into grand works of art. Many of the collection are handmade from reclaimed pine timbers from Great Britain that are a century old.

I fell in love with the Versailles Domed Burlap-Backed Chair. In the grand chateaux of 18th-century France, the porter, stationed by the entrance to admit visitors, would have sat in a chair much like this. Inspired by classic 18th-century Louis XV chairs. The chair comes in several fabric color options.

  1. Love the pictures!
I remember going to the Quarry years ago. Do they still have the theater with the locomotive in the upper walls and the sounds?? So innovative.
    Have a great week!
