Spiritual Sunday

Join in at Spiritual Sunday for a blessed day with friends.  The group has been my saving grace many times.  Please go on over to share your prayer request and to give support to someone in need.  May God fill your heart with love, courage, and peace.

It has been a challenging last few weeks.  I took some quiet time to myself.  I got a cold/cough and I'm still trying to get over it.  I went to work but wasn't really myself.   The hardest part lately is that my grandmother just passed away.  We knew she was getting ready to go but it still hurt to see her go.  She helped raise me and my siblings when we were young.  I remember her cooking for us.  There were always fresh home-made flour tortillas on the grill.  We ate them up with butter faster than she could cook them.  They were delicious!!  I also remember her bbuying us coloring books from the corner store.  That was back in the late 1960's, "the good old days".   My grandmother was guaranteed to be at church and she knew her  prayers in Spanish.  I learned Spanish from her and I'm so glad I retained it.  She was so sweet and loving to everyone she knew.  I am thankful that God remembered to come for her because she had been suffering for a long time.  I know she is singing and dancing in heaven.  She got her wings.  I rejoice in the Lord for his love and mercy for my grandmother.  I also come to him in prayer for my family, especially my mother who misses her so very much.

God Bless You!

  2. Yoli, I'm so sorry for your families loss. What a beautiful tribute to your grandmother...the pictures bring back so many memories for me. My grandmother used to make fresh tortillas and we would line up as they came of the comal(?)fresh and hot just waiting for butter. She used to make sopapillas, too. What beautiful hands holding God's word. What a blessing your abuela was. My heart and prayers go out to you and your mom. Blessings, Patty
