Monday - Hummmm

I often come back to this picture when I'm in need of direction.  When I feel lost or frustrated, I quiet my heart to try to listen to God's voice.  The past week was so hectic as I prepared for my first solo market show.  I've done several of them with my sister Jessica, who owns JOY Marie's Boutique; but this was my first time alone.  Apron Senorita is my "labor of love".  It is brings me joy but it does take work.  This past weekend I gathered my crafts and headed out to a local market show.  My daughter Gina went with me.  We both worked hard getting things prepared, setting up, and then we sat at our booth waiting for the huge crowds to walk-in.  Well, the big crowds of customers never walked in.   It was so slow that vendors sat around all day chatting with each other to keep from falling asleep.   We sadly loaded our vehicle and went home.

That night I started to question myself and wonder if my Apron Senorita is really in God's plan for me.  I don't want to waste time not doing God's will with my time.  I don't want to be missing out on greater things even if it means having the courage to do something different.  I wish I had a direct connect to God where I could just pick-up a phone to ask him questions.  I know I would be on the phone constantly with him.  For today, I will continue on the same road, hoping for courage and praying for wisdom.

“Being vulnerable doesn’t have to be threatening. Just have the courage to be sincere, open and honest. This opens the door to deeper communication all around. It creates self-empowerment and the kind of connections with others we all want in life. Speaking from the heart frees us from the secrets that burden us. These secrets are what make us sick or fearful. Speaking truth helps you get clarity on your real heart directives.” – Sara Paddison, author of  The Hidden Power of the Heart

  2. I love that picture. I love prayer (talking to God), and reading scriptures (hearing His voice). I also love being outside in nature, I feel it is witnessing His majesty. I'm sorry your first solo market show wasn't what you wanted it to be, small businesses have really been hit hard these past couple of years. Just know that it wasn't you or your product's fault. For the record, you make beautiful aprons :). Hope to see you around soon at Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters

  3. The Woman At The Well is such a beautiful painting! I know what you mean by having a direct line to Him! It would make life easier, but then I would get lazy...

  4. I wish I had that direct connect too! Or, maybe we, as believers, do but we get impatient or our selective listening kicks in??? The only answer is to keep praying!
