For Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for books. Reading takes you anywhere you want to go and beyond. It courages imagination, excitement, and peace. Life is centered around books, like the Holy Bible. History is captured and we get a glimpse into what they future might hold.
.
My kids know how much I love books but they keep telling me to get a Kindle book "gadget". I like technology but I love my hard copy books. I know Kindles are convenient and can store a lot of books, but hard copy books are beautiful and come in all sizes and colors. For me, half of the fun is the touch and feel of books, the scent of vintage books, and the way they brighten up a room. To most people books are just books but to me they are precious jewels I want to bring home. I celebrate the fact that books are such a big part of our culture and that we encourage reading. We are blessed to be able to own a bible and have school books in our community.

I bought this 1962 Dick and Jane book and it is great condition.
.
Books make a decor statement. They warm up a house.
.
I love coffee shops and books. One of my favorite things to do. I can sit with a book, get something to drink, grab some lunch, and enjoy "me" time.

Thanks for the post. I love reading but I have forgotten to take time out for that. You've inspired me to make time for a good book and a cup of joe.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,

Mister and I are book junkies! They're everywhere in our home. I'm sitting in a room that wall to wall bookcases full. We can say that we've read all of them....at least one of us. I love the feel and smell of books. I write in all of mine, taking notes and making references. They're all special to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. I loved it.

Dear Yoli,
ReplyDeleteTo me, it's hard to imagine a home that isn't filled with books - that's part of what makes a home a home! I grew up surrounded by books and I love them. Although technological advances are wonderful, there is nothing that can replace the specialness of a traditional book!
Enjoyed your post and have been regularly visiting your blog!
Hugs
Ramona
