Mi Casa Es Su Casa

Welcome to "Mi Casa" (My Home) at Apron Senorita. This weekend I am going to work on Halloween Aprons and Christmas Aprons & Stockings. My kids are also coming back from a 3 week vacation with family and friends. I work full-time and couldn't take all of those days off. I have the apron business that keeps me busy. I'm blessed to be mom, proud of my career and I find passion through sewing. I'm blessed to be an American where we can benefit from our education and hard work. Most of all, I'm blessed that I'm a Christian with love and courage from God, and where...
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13).
I love these prints. The colors are gorgeous!! The saying is common in my culture. I remember going on trips to visit family who lived in very modest conditions. Their economic standing never got in the way of them opening up their homes. They always made room for us, and in spite us being so many. I remember playing, going to celebrations, and enjoying meals together. Maybe we were all poor and I just didn't know it. One thing is for sure, were were rich in what matters the most; love, family, and faith. Now that me and my siblings are all grown-up, I credit my parents for teaching us generosity and hard work. All of us graduated from college, have great careers and businesses, and have strong Christian values at home with our own families. Life comes with challenges, slips, falls, and mistakes; but those are just learning experiences. It is God's way of building our character and strengthening our courage.

One of my favorite dishes growing up was "Carne Guisda" which is like a "Mexican Beef Stew".

It is delicious and hearty. There are so many different types of family recipe variations. They start with beef sirloin which is browned and spiced up with Spanish seasonings. Depending on the chef or grandma's taste, the recipe will include garlic, potatoes, bell pepper, carrots, tomatoes, etc. It is a dish is served at most Mexican Restaurants. Just add a little salsa, some warm tortillas, and you're in for a delicious treat.
