I want to wish everyone a fun and safe July 4th holiday. I hope that during this time we will stop to give a prayer for our soldiers, our nation, and leaders. This Independence Day is a reminder of the sacrifices made by our military and their families, so we could enjoy our freedom. Today I am appreciative that I show my American entrepreneur spirit, that I have protections under our Constitution, and that I can voice my opinions.
I'm in a new city this year, so my kids and I are going to find local festivals to attend. There is a fireworks show at one of the local parks. I'm hoping to find several fairs or flea markets too. We will probably go to Austin, Tx which is just 45 minutes away, and enjoy some Freedom Festivities there as well. I've got to search online for local events. Oh, and the festive food; BBQ, Hot Dogs, and Apple Pie...yummy.
What are your July 4th plans?

Happy Independence Day Yoli! July 4th is my parents' weddng anniversary, and we'll be here to celebrate with them. Then we go home and get to celebrate with the French on their own equivalent day - 14th July.
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of the fireworks on the US Bicentenial Independence Day celebrations, when I was a confused little English girl surrounded by patriotic American classmates. It was hard to be English in America that year!
I am headed to the lake to spend Independence Day with friends and family.
ReplyDeleteI am blue this 4th of July weekend cause I miss my little boy. :-( He went to visit relatives in upstate NY. He has only been gone for 15 hours and I miss him already! He will be back Wednesday and we can celebrate then! :-)

We're going down the Jersey Shore with the kids for the day and at night we're coming back here and going to watch the Macy's fireworks from our city's waterfront. We're close enough to NYC on the Hudson, right across the river, where we can see them perfectly from our cars in our supermarket parking lot without having to go into NYC and beat that crowd!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you from Social Parade!! :) Hopefully you can visit us and follow back! Have a great 4th of july weekend!

Thanks for visiting! I'm from Texas, too. I was raised in Southeast Texas (Beaumont area), but have lived in PA for 6 years.
ReplyDeleteNo specific plans for tomorrow. At least not for me and the kidlets anyway. My husband is going golfing with his buddies, so it's just me and the girls.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm following back. I can't wait to read more from you! :)

Yoli, I love the vintage photos! What a hoot!
ReplyDeleteWe went to a parade this morning. I posted pics on Wild about Whidbey. The rest of the day has been kind of lazy. Tomorrow we will go on a picnic. We might watch the fireworks, but since I have to work early on Monday- probably not. I hope you have a wonderful holiday! :)
Very touched by your post. I am also an all American entrepreneur girl. Our 4th will be spent with friends and family and a call to my daughter & son in law who are in the military. Thanks for such a great post...Your newest follower. Niki
ReplyDeleteYoli, Hello from New Braunfels...love your blog and the blog parties list!!! I had no idea how many there are...I'm doing good to post for Pink Saturday, but there are lots of intriquing sites to visit. We will watch the 4th of July fireworks from our meadow. The show is much more fun downtown in the park where you can watch them explode right overhead, but when the last big boom signals the end of the show, it sure is nice to walk back inside and already be home. I don't know where you live, but we have a nice small town parade here in New Braunfels and Seguin has a really great hometown parade. Where ever you celebrate, enjoy. I'm also a Valleyite...grew up in McAllen and have been here since '95. We love the Hill Country
ReplyDeleteYoli! I hope you and your family have a safe and happy fourth! Your plans sound like fun. We are taking it easy. Our youngest daughter celebrated her 19th birthday yesterday! We stayed up way too late! I am always praying for our military. Thank you for your thoughtful post. Anne
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July. Spending a quiet, well not to quiet due to fireworks, nite at home.
