My Virgin Mary Apron is one of my original designs and often in demand. I started sewing a new batch of them this week. The fabric is so pretty so I try to keep the apron design with minimal distractions. The floral pin is the perfect accent.

In Celebration of Holy Week
Holy Thursday celebrates Christ himself in the Eucharist and of the institution of the sacerdotal priesthood. Jesus' last supper with the disciples celebrated Passover with a washing of the feet and sharing of his body and blood. It was more than symbolism. It was Jesus' service in life and death.

Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet
It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. John 13:1-5

The Lord's Supper
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. I Corinthians 11:23-26

  3. Thank you, Yoli. I'm looking for inspiration for my next children's post, and I think I needed to read this at an adult's level first. The apron is amazing too.
