For Unto Us....

.
It is such a blessing for me to participate in Spiritual Sundays with Ginger & Charlotte. I have found so many answers to my prayers in the words of wisdom from the wonderful women I have met. I sincerely thank my Heavenly Father God for bringing mentors and inspirational friends to my life. One of those women is my dear friend Floss who hosts A Pause for Advent. During the holidays people are running crazy trying to find the perfect gift. It is easy to get stressed, depressed, or lost in the holiday frenzy. A Pause for Advent is my friendly reminder to appreciate the gift of life that God is giving us through His son Jesus Christ.
.
With our relocating this month we were not able to put up our holiday decorations or do much gift shopping at all. Instead, I am reminding myself and my kids that the gift of Christmas is Christ himself. I am looking back at 2009 with gratitude for God's love and mercy.

  1. Thank you so much, Yoli - you are a great reminder that Christmas is not all about what we can do, but about what has been done for us.

  3. This is a good year for that. I think there are many of us who are concentrating on what Christmas really is and trying to cut back on the craziness of all the presents.
I am so thankful for that.

  4. I believe your children will have this Christmas be one that they remember as truly blessed. To teach them the true spirit and meaning behind the holiday is the best gift you could give them. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Debbie

  7. Thank you for the reminder of what Christmas is really all about. It is easy to get caught up in all the "trappings' and forget what is really important.

  9. Beautiful words of thanksgiving, Yoli...He is indeed the gift! We all would do well to be in a position, as you are, to be in a place that causes us to stop from the craziness of shopping and "perfection", and concentrate on our Lord. You are also an inspiration to us!

    God bless,
    Mary

  16. Yes, it's all about Christ. I think the main reason some people get stressed and/or depressed during this time is because they focus on themselves or what they need to do/want to get/how they feel/what they expect (how Christmas should be), etc., instead of focusing on Christ.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed week in the Lord!
