Tuesday ~ Ruby & Vintage

When I was a kid I loved watching the Andy Griffith Show and Little House on the Prairie. I always wanted to be like Laura Ingalls. I think part of me got stuck in the "good-old" days. Those were special times when the family would gather around the television for good wholesome fun.

My love affair with vintage country decor started way back then, sitting in front of the television. This past weekend I went to the SAS Shoe Factory in San Antonio. I enjoyed a fun afternoon with my mother and Aunt Connie. As soon as we drove in I fell in love with the place. We were greeted by vintage architecture buildings; Feed Store, Post Office, Garage, and General Store. We walked through an old style screen door, the type you see in old general store. In the store we walked the isles and watched shoes being handcrafted. The store sold popcorn for 5 cents and sodas for 10 cents. I was like a kid in a candy store with the endless displays of antiques. I took tons of pictures and here are just a few.

  4. Just watched a episode of Little house yesterday-- been years since I've watched it.

I think my sis-in-law has been there-- she loves SAS shoes. That red car looks like a real version of the car in my RT!
