Ranch Relaxation

I would love to get away to this gorgeous ranch.  I'm only dreaming for now but hopefully some day I will be able to go there.  It is amazing to see the beautiful landscape that God created.  The skies are magestic and the rivers run like crystal water.  The ranch is located near Saratoga, Wyoming, and it is the grandeur and adventure of the West.  Set on 13,000 private acres of a 19th century working cattle ranch, the Wyoming luxury resort is the perfect destination for high end group retreats, destination weddings, and exclusive family escapes. It would be so nice to go for several days to relax, ride horses, get pampered at the spa, and dine on fine foods.  It is good to dream and have visions of our goals.  I often do this to remind myself that my world is larger than just my community.  I sincerely think that God wants us to enjoy his masterful creations.  I know I've worked hard all of my life and would enjoy a vacation getaway.  There is nothing wrong for a single mom from Texas to have big dreams.

Colors of Spring

The day the Lord created hope was probably
the same day he created Spring.

Beat the Heat

I was outside a while ago and it was scorching hot.  We are still in Spring and its already so hot.  Summer doesn't even start until June 21st.  I can't even image how the summer months are going to be.  I know many of us are blessed with air conditioning at home, at work, and in are vehicles, and for that I'm so grateful to God.  Yet, there are so many other people who have to endure the extreme high temperatures, like construction workers, firemen, farm workers, etc.    We need to reach out in our communities to take extra care of older people and young children who live without air conditioning.  To survive the hot days we need to keep plenty of cool fluids on hand and try to stay indoors during peak heat hours.  I try to run my errands early morning and late evening.  Wearing clothes that is lightweight and made of breathable fabric is also helpful.

Pets are also prone to heat stress so please take good care of them to ensure they are hydrated and have a shaded area rest.  Take care of plants and vegetation by watering them early morning.  It is best to put your potted plants in a shaded area.  Prepare your home for the heat.   Change your ceiling fan's direction to blow air down to give the room a breeze and make it feel cooler.  Pull your curtains and blinds closed to block out sunlight that can heat up rooms during the day.  Doing your baking during mornings or evenings. Clean your dryer vents so they won't clog causing warm air to blow back in to the room where your dryer is located, eventually raising the temperature in the whole house.  Make sure that your doors and windows are properly insulated to keep the warm air out.   Replace air conditioner filters regularly to reduce the efficiency of your air conditioning system's ability to push and pull air through air registers. Give extra care to your vehicle, change filters, change fluids, and be sure to check the tires if you're going on a long road trip.

My Monday

Monday means back to work.  I wish the weekend was longer.  I'm blessed with a well balanced life, fun family times, and a satisfying career. I have to admit that I like my job and  the people I work with.  Yet, I wish it was a 5 day weekend and a 2 day work week.  This past weekend  I had such a fun time with my Aunt Connie.  We woke-up very early on Saturday to go to Wimberly, Texas to their monthly Market Days.  Wimberley hosts the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country and the second-largest in the state. The market features over 475 vendor booths, live music,  delicious food boots, and free admission.   Connie and I walked so much that it was a good work-out for my legs.  We ate BBQ sandwiches at the pavillion and listened to a singer charm the crowd.  HAD LOTS OF FUN!!

Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

Take a Stand in Style

These are stunning hair accessories.  They inspire romance and a daring spirit.  They are magical and whimsical.  To wear one is to say "Notice Me".  Adorned with stones and feather, a woman is sure to feel transformed back to an era of royalty like Egyptian goddesses.  Its amazing how easy we can change how we feel just by styling our hair.   It gives  us a classically beautiful profile and outlook.  It puts forward our inner beauty.  I will make a better effort at style my hair before I go to work.  I can't guarantee I will wear jewels on my hair but I will have a inner crown glowing bright.  Take a stand in style!

June is National Candy Month

A little chocolate is like a love affair - an occasional sweet release that lightens the spirit.  A lot of chocolate is like marriage - it seems so good at first but before you know it you've got chunky hips and a waddle-walk.  I have a long love affair with candy.   When I was a very young girl I remember day dreaming that I was a princess and that all the candy I ever wanted was available to me.  I love the sweet taste of candy as much as I love their beautiful colors.   A few years ago we went to Disney World where I fell in love with the beautiful candy shops. I truly was a kid in the candy store.  It was magical.

If it was up to me, I would make candy calorie free and guilt free.  It would be divided into four basic food groups:  milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate truffles.  Each one would be like a best friend that would be there in a time of need.  Stressed spelled backwards is desserts.  Coincidence?  I think not!    Like all things, everything in moderation is best, especially candy.  Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands - and then eat just one of the pieces.   There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with chocolate.  I send you sweet wishes for a happy candy month.
