He adds that the things we think of as 'distractions' to prayer and meditation are the stuff of real life, the stuff where God wants to meet us. Therefore he says we should consider each thought that 'pops' into our heads during meditation, recognise it as interesting rather than negative, and then decide if it is a thought we should put to one side for now, or one we should pray on. I really liked this advice on how to deal with all the silly little things that float through my mind during prayer and meditation!Flosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18098894367955345944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3708094584860569214.post-64890285473207329352011-03-23T16:46:58.799-05:002011-03-23T16:46:58.799-05:00I believe in this post 100%. You are so right that we need time to sit and refresh and recharge. I love to grab my large print study Bible, that has so many of my favorite and encouraging Bible verses, and spend quiet time reading from the Word of God, praying about it, thinking about how to apply it, and listening to God speak to me through HIs Word. When the Sandwich Generation duties, such as babysitting grandchildren, get me up and on the run too early to do that, I'll listen to a favorite pastor's sermon mp3 on my iPod as I drive. It's not as quiet or peaceful, but it's amazing how God can use that time, as well, to refresh and re-energize me. :) Praying for God's blessings on you and your aunt this week! :)Kaye Swain - SandwichINK for Grandparents and Caregivershttp://www.sandwichink.com/the-trinity-explained-to-children-using-easter-activities-for-grandparents-and-grandchildrennoreply@blogger.com
